QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A Queens man who lost his leg as a teenager is now turning that painful chapter into a powerful mission to uplift others.
Thirty-five-year-old Stanley Miguel, known as “Stan Da Man,” is hosting the Enabled 5K Walk/Run/Roll this weekend in Flushing, already drawing more than 300 participants.
A childhood dirt bike accident left him an amputee after seven failed surgeries, but instead of giving up, Miguel says he found resilience, faith, and community. He created his nonprofit Re’tached to show others living with disabilities that life’s challenges can be transformed into purpose.
The proud Haitian-American father is now training for the 2028 Paralympics, the NYC Marathon, and more, defying what many once thought impossible.
