The oldest volunteer-run soup kitchen in Victoria is a valuable resource for those experiencing hunger that serves meals to hundreds of people a day, but is seeking community help to ensure its continued service.

For 43 years, The Soup Kitchen on View Street has been serving low-income workers, seniors, those unhoused and anyone living at risk in the region.

Teri Hustins, a 12-year volunteer with The Soup Kitchen and incoming chairperson said that due to rising food prices, equipment and security costs, they are in need of donations and volunteers to continue offering their services of protein-rich soups, sandwiches, treats and more.
