Imade a mistake, and I’ll admit it. As Derrick Henry rumbled down the sideline away from me in the fourth quarter of the Buffalo Bills’ home opener, I turned to my brother and said, “Let’s leave.”

In fact, I’m not so sure that if I had stayed, the game wouldn’t have gotten worse for the Bills. I’m also convinced that staying in the car in a friend’s driveway paved the way for a miracle comeback as we watched the winning kick on my phone.

I’m at peace with the decision.

Well, I was until I got called out by Josh Allen on national television, and I’m having a hard time dealing with that. How could Buffalo’s hero, and likely the nicest athlete we’ve ever had in Western New York, call fans out for not believing and walking away from a game that seemed doomed?
