LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - With five defensive turnovers to start Texas Tech’s 2025 campaign, fumbles and interceptions have not been the Red Raiders’ only takeaways to start off the season. For the second consecutive week, the Big 12’s “Defensive Player of the Week” dons the Red & Black.

Defensive back Brice Pollock was tabbed the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week Monday, seven days after defensive lineman Skyler Gill-Howard earned the same honors. In Saturday’s contest, Pollock registered two interceptions en route to a 45-14 blowout win over Oregon State.

Pollock’s picks came during the second and third quarter of last Saturday’s game, the latter prevented a Beaver touchdown while Tech protected a 35-0 lead. Following the game, when asked about his first interception, of which he dove
