FRANKLINVILLE, N.Y. — Limited production has resumed at the Great Lakes Cheese facility in Franklinville, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Additionally, waste from the facility is now being transported to nearby farms by tanker trucks to be used in manure lagoons, according to the NYSDEC.

Specifically, waste material is being pumped from a digester at the Great Lakes Cheese (GLC) plant. The DEC says that all disposal is subject to required permit conditions.

The DEC specifically points out however, that no new wastewater discharges into Ischua Creek are taking place.
