BOISE, Idaho — A social media post accused the city of Boise of defying a presidential order to lower flags following the death of Charlie Kirk, though city officials said they complied with the directive despite some flags being raised early.

Former Idaho Solicitor General Theo Wold posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday, claiming that the "City of Boise flying flags full mast at the Boise Depot, in defiance of the President's order that flags be lowered after Charlie Kirk's murder." The post also referenced other flag-related controversies, stating "Boise already flies the LGBT trans-rights flag in violation of Idaho law" and called on Governor Brad Little to respond.
