SALT LAKE CITY — One person was injured on Monday after a crash in Parleys Canyon that caused a hazmat spill, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
According to Lt. Cameron Roden, the crash occurred in an area that was already under construction, between mile markers 140 and 141 near Jeremy Ranch in Park City. Roden said a box truck merging from the right lane hit a Subaru.
“The Subaru bounced off and came back to the right, hitting another semi in the fuel tank,” Roden said.
Roden said the collision with the fuel tank caused a spill of about 100 to 150 gallons of fuel. The spill forced the closure of all other lanes, leaving only the far left lane open for traffic to pass.
