PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria Police arrested an 18-year-old who was charged with several weapon-related offenses.

Police responded to North Prospect Road early Saturday morning after hearing word of shots being fired in the area. When they arrived at the scene, officers found a car that had crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Richwoods Boulevard and Prospect Road.

The suspect, 18-year-old Jaxson Robinson, was one of two people detained following the crash. After combing the scene, officers found a stolen gun and determined Robinson had fired the gun at another vehicle.

Robinson was taken to the Peoria County Jail, where he faces many charges, including aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of a weapon without a FOID card, and possession of a stolen firearm.
