THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 20-year-old man was shot in the face in the Bronx on Sept. 9, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. in front of 611 East 161st Street.

Police say the victim was standing in front of the building when he was approached by an unknown man on a Citi Bike.

The man on the bike got off, displayed a gun, and fired at the victim, police say. The suspect then got back on the Citi Bike and fled eastbound on 161st Street.

EMS transported the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the face, to an area hospital in stable condition.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black ski hat, grey jeans, and black sneakers. The NYPD released the following surveillance photos of the suspect.
