A prayer vigil was held at the University of North Alabama's fountain on Monday honoring Charlie Kirk. The vigil is organized by local citizens, not affiliated with the school, to mourn his loss.
Students on campus have shared mixed feelings about the vigil. Caleb Adams, a student at UNA, said, "I feel bad for his family though and his kids but other than that he wouldn't really have empathy for me if something like this happened to me or my people so I don't really have much empathy towards him."
Another student, Shylah Stewart, expressed a desire for broader remembrance, saying, "I think we should, if we're going to have events like this, if we're going to hold memorials, I mean we should be doing that for these other things that are important for other shootings, other victims."
