PEORIA COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - Local agencies helping those with disabilities now have over $1.6 million in grants from Peoria County.

The Peoria County Board for the Care and Treatment of People with Developmental Disabilities sent funds to agencies like Camp Big Sky , the Easterseals of Central Illinois , Best Buddies , and the Community Workshop and Training Center for various programs.

CWTC helps adults with disabilities through job placement programs and life skills training.

The nonprofit received over $82,075 for its Adult Day Developmental Training Program and $353,045 for the Job Readiness Program. The funds are for the 2025 - 2026 fiscal year.
