PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Multiple hikers had to be rescued from trails in Phoenix and just east of the Valley on Monday.
Three hikers were rescued off the Peralta Trail in Gold Canyon this afternoon. Around 3 p.m., crews from Supersititon Fire and Medical responded to the trailhead, where they found three hikers who needed help getting off the trail.
Two of the hikers were taken down in the “Big Wheel” basket. The other person refused care. While no one was seriously hurt, two people were taken to the hospital for heat-related issues. They are in stable condition.
Another rescue happened on South Mountain around 5 p.m. Phoenix Fire crews responded to the trailhead near 43rd Avenue and Estrella Drive for reports of an overheated hiker.
