YORK — The spectacle of Syracuse football players running sprints after a hard-fought victory over UConn gripped Shavane Anderson Jr. in the JMA Wireless Dome. He was struck — almost in awe.

There was no celebration to be had. Orange coach Fran Brown believed the game shouldn’t have reached overtime. He felt it in his being that 27-20 was an unacceptable result due to lack of hustle, albeit a triumph. So, he ordered his team to get back to work straight away.
