GOSHEN – A huge crowd gathered in the village square in downtown Goshen on Monday evening as some 500 people gathered to honor conservative political activist Charlie Kirk who was shot and killed during a Utah rally last week.
As the sun set, a sea of small candles dotted the darkened square.
The night’s featured speaker was state Assemblyman Brian Maher (R, Walden).
Kirk’s only known connection to Orange County, according to the “Guardian” newspaper, is that he applied to West Point in 2012, but was rejected.
