BARTLETT, Tenn. - It could have been a cat-astrophic experience but firefighters came to rescue over the weekend to save a cat stuck inside a chimney in Bartlett.

According to the Bartlett Fire Department, firefighters were called to a home for a possible "cat in a chimney" situation. They arrived to find that a cat had gotten into the attic, fallen down in the void space behind the fireplace insert and couldn't get out, the fire department said.

First, they crawled through the attic and even disassembled the fireplace in search of the cat. It wasn't until the firefighters decided to a cut a hole in a bathroom next to the fireplace that they had found the feline.

That was when firefighters were able to "safely retrieve" the cat.
