LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A shooting in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood has left a man injured.

Metro Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting and a person down in the area of South 24th Street and West Broadway just after 8 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found a man down suffering from gunshot wounds.

First aid was provided to the man until EMS arrived, and he was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Investigators are canvassing the area in hopes of learning what led up to the shooting and a possible motive. They are also trying to determine if the shooting happened there or at a nearby location.

Police do not have any suspects.
