Drivers face delays in Plymouth today (Tuesday, September 16) as a lorry has broken down on a major route out of the city.

A lorry has reportedly broken down in the middle lane on Laira Bridge Road, at the junction of Heles Terrace.

Traffic is building in the area and people are told to expect delays.

Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, also reported the incident.

It said: "A379 Laira Bridge Road inbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to broken down lorry at A374 Heles Terrace."

Plymouth Highways has said:

We have had reports of a broken down lorry in the middle lane of Laira Bridge Road at the junction with Heles Terrace. Traffic is building up and we are expecting delays in the area. Updates when we have them.
