The Palatka City Commission voted on Monday to return the city manager to her position while an external investigation is being conducted.

During a special meeting on Monday evening, city commissioners voted to remove the administrative leave status of City Manager Marcia Carty, who is currently the subject of an external and independent investigation.

Police Chief Jason Shaw was designated as acting assistant city manager. During the course of the investigation, all employees who typically report to Carty will directly report to Shaw.

City commissioners affirmed their commitment to conducting a fair, thorough and impartial review through an external investigative process.
