NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says conservation officers are investigating after a fisherman’s body was recovered from a Noble County lake on Monday afternoon.

The department says officers were notified around 9 a.m. on Monday that 47-year-old Michael W. Vinson of Ligonier was missing after not returning from a fishing trip on Engle Lake.

When officers arrived, they say they found a kayak, a paddle, and fishing equipment floating in the water.

After using a side-scan sonar, DNR says officers recovered Vinson’s body from the water, about 25 feet deep, at 4 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
