A UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory has found that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

The Commission says it has “reasonable grounds to conclude” that four acts of genocide were committed: killing members of the group, causing serious bodily or mental harm, inflicting conditions calculated to bring about the group’s destruction, and preventing births.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry immediately called the report “distorted and false”, saying the three-member panel were acting as “Hamas proxies”.

This comes as the IDF has launched its biggest ground operation in Gaza City, since the war unfolded almost two years ago.

At least 68 people have died since dawn, from the heavy bombardment and starvation, according to local media.
