SPRINGFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - The Southern State Correctional facility’s superintendent is back on the job after being cleared of a misconduct allegation.
The Vermont Department of Corrections on Tuesday announced Michaela Merrial has returned to her role following a human resources investigation that lasted nearly two months. They say the probe concluded the allegation was unfounded.
DOC officials provided no details on the nature of the allegation.
Merrial took over the superintendent’s job two years ago after Mike Lyon left the job. He had also faced allegations but was cleared of any wrongdoing after an investigation.
