SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (WAVE) - No injuries were reported after a fire overtook an apartment building in Scottsburg Tuesday morning.
The National Apartments building in the 100 block of West Cherry Street caught fire at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 16. The building is across the street from a Scottsburg Fire and Rescue station.
That station allowed the first truck to arrive on the scene within minutes before a larger truck was able to come in from across town.
According to SFR Chief James Ritchey, the building used to be a manufacturing plant and then was turned into a tire factory before being converted to apartments with 11 units, nine were occupied at the time of the fire.
