An elementary school student in Polk County has been suspended after administrators say she threatened to bring a gun to campus.

Administrators say the Benton Elementary student threatened to bring a gun to school.

Director of Schools Dr. James Jones says the student is a "very young" girl who made the threat near the end of the day on Monday.

Dr. James also says that students and staff were never in any real danger.

The threat is under investigation.
