LAKE CHARLES, La. ( KPLC /Gray News) – A man in Louisiana is accused of raping a young girl multiple times.
Elvin Meza, 29, is facing charges of first-degree rape and sexual battery of a victim under 13 years old, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said.
Officials also noted that Meza has an immigration detainer , which is a request from ICE to law enforcement to hold a person for up to 48 business hours after they would otherwise be released. This gives ICE time to take the person into custody for deportation proceedings.
Deputies responded to “suspicious circumstances” at a home in Lake Charles around midnight Saturday, where they learned Meza had “inappropriate sexual contact” with the child.
