LANSING, Mich. — A group of conservative state representatives introduced a bill that would make it illegal for Michigan adults to view online pornography.
Conservative lawmakers are calling the bill the " anticorruption of public morals act ." The bill was referred to the Judiciary Committee last week.
Those who make and/or distribute porn would be guilty of a felony that is punishable by up to 20 years and/or fined up to $100,000, according to the proposed language.
Lead sponsor Rep. Josh Schriver, and co-sponsors Rep. Joseph Pavlov, Rep. Matt Maddock, Rep. James DeSana, Rep. Joseph Fox and Rep Jennifer Wortz introduced the bill on Sept. 11.
