What was supposed to be the city’s newest high-rise hotel has sat unfinished for years.
Leon County Commissioner David O’Keefe said the county called the developer’s performance bond. The developer had 60 days to fix the right-of-way and sidewalks, but didn’t.
So, the bond company must rely on the developer, pay for the county to do it, or do it themselves.
The city and county had given the developer another chance, even though the property has been fined daily datinh pack to the pandemic.
The city is trying to foreclose or sell the property, but recently, the developer moved to dismiss the foreclosure suit.
