GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Avast ye, a crew of merchant vessels be is encouragin' swashbuckling shenanigans in Downtown Grand Haven this Thursday, with an opportunity for landlubbers and sea dogs alike to plunder some fine treasure!

“Ye’ll be taking on swashbucklin’ pirate tasks at each port o’ call,” according to Caleb Berko, store manager at MACkite.

So batten down the hatches, grab yer parrots and peg legs as several merchants and taverns arrrrrr taking part in a pirate-themed event on National Talk Like a Pirate Day, Sept. 19.

“Participants may have to walk a plank at one store or give their best pirate impression at another,” Berko said. “Of course, it’s fun just to walk through all of the stores, but we wanted to invite customers in for an experience.”
