Most kids who were around in the 1980s and 1990s can recall the pure joy of seeing rows of small dessert bowls tempting them from behind a glass barrier at Morrison’s Cafeteria. Then your parents would say you could have only one dessert and you were left in a quandary trying to choose between cake, pie, cobbler, pudding or Jell-O. It was a tough decision for a kid.
For nearly a century, Morrison’s was the place to get Sunday “dinner” right after church.
