LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Fall is known for a couple of things, like pumpkins, falling leaves, and a temperature change, but it’s also a time for new plant growth.
Trent Smith, a yard maintenance manager with Landscape Management , says right now is the time that homeowners should pay attention to their lawns.
“Your grass is stressed from summer, so (during) the fall months, your grass is going to—it’s the best time for it to recover,” Smith said.
Smith said there are a few things that homeowners can do to help their yard as the fall season approaches, such as raking leaves and aerating their lawn.
“Your soil will start to get compacted from constant mowing during the summer months, so you’re going to get compaction. You want to aerate if you can. That’s going to allow the nutrients
