BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Sheriff's deputies from the Lamont substation investigated reports of a shooting Saturday night and made two arrests.

A suspect was arrested for an alleged assault when Kern County sheriff's deputies responded to the area of East Wilson and South Vineland roads for a report of shots fired on Sept. 13, at about 11:20 p.m.

Multiple people fled the area when deputies arrived and no evidence of a shooting was found on the property, according to officials.

Medical aid was requested for the assault victim.

Another person was arrested after allegedly making an attempt to hit deputies with a vehicle when they fled the scene.
