BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Leadership Bakersfield -- a program under Greater Bakersfield Chamber -- is teaming up with 17 News to provide clothes for the kids at the Kern County Jamison Children's Center on Sept. 24.

The drive is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the KGET News Compassion Corner, located at 2100 Chester Ave. in Bakersfield. The event is set to run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to organizers.

Donors are welcome to donate new socks and undergarments, youth basics, sweatpants, sweaters, jeans, shoes and new hygiene products, organizers said.

The clothing drive is especially looking for pants and sweatpants for boys, XL jackets for girls and boys’ sweaters of all sizes. The drive is collecting gently used or new items.
