CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn) is asking for more time to come up with an alternative plan for a controversial infrastructure proposal.
Earlier this month, the CT Siting Council changed their vote and backed a plan with United Illuminating to install giant monopoles throughout Bridgeport and Fairfield. The plan received a lot of backlash from locals, saying this will affect homes, local businesses and their quality of life.
"We did talk to United Illuminating... they said they would not oppose a delay," Lamont said. "Not it's our job to sit down. We'll be sitting down yet again on Friday to make sure we come up with all the alternatives. What you can do in terms of undergrounding, rerouting, and other ways we can do as little disruption to your communities as we possibly c
