CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn) is asking for more time to come up with an alternative plan for a controversial infrastructure proposal.

Earlier this month, the CT Siting Council changed their vote and backed a plan with United Illuminating to install giant monopoles throughout Bridgeport and Fairfield. The plan received a lot of backlash from locals, saying this will affect homes, local businesses and their quality of life.

"We did talk to United Illuminating... they said they would not oppose a delay," Lamont said. "Not it's our job to sit down. We'll be sitting down yet again on Friday to make sure we come up with all the alternatives.
