NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- The New Haven Museum on Whitney Avenue is opening a new exhibit in October which will celebrate the city's passion for pizza.

"Pronounced Ah-Beetz" will highlight the history of New Haven's Italian community and famous regional pizza style, as well as the "Big 3" spots that are most closely associated with apizza -- Frank Pepe's, Sally's and Modern.

“We plan to fully immerse viewers into replicas of the ‘Big 3’ pizzerias, complete with a very realistic brick oven,” Gorman Bechard, one of the exhibit's organizers, said. “We’ll also incorporate short histories of Foxon Park Soda, and some of the beer served locally.”
