CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Five immigrant families are home tonight after their regular check-ins at the U.S. Homeland Security building in Cedar Rapids.
Eschucha Mi Voz says federal officials would not let its interpreters in... as dozens of people protested and supported the immigrant families outside the ICE office this morning. One protestor said it’s an intimidation tactic.
Five immigrant families checked in for their regular ICE appointments on Tuesday morning.
Members and interpreters from Escucha Mi Voz walked the first family in, but then came back out.
Federal officials wouldn’t let them in.
Dozens of protestors took to the streets in front of the Homeland Security building, supporting those families as they went inside.
