MANTEO, N.C. (WITN) - Another beachfront home on the Outer Banks has been swallowed up by the Atlantic Ocean.
The National Park Service says the latest home to collapse was in Buxton on Tower Circle Road. It was unoccupied.
This is the 12th home on the Seashore to be leveled in recent years. Last year, seven homes in Rodanthe were lost.
Visitors are urged to avoid the beach near Buxton because of the collapse, as well as north of Rodanthe, where other threatened beachfront homes are located.
