FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Super Shot and the Allen County Health Department are teaming up to launch the “Be a Flu Fighter” campaign.
The campaign is a community-wide effort to increase flu vaccination rates across the county. Nationally, there is a goal to have 70% of old people 6 months old and older vaccinated annually.
Super Shot Executive Director Connie Heflin says getting the flu shot early is one of the best ways to navigate flu season.
“Initial indications show that it could be a bad flu season, so this is our way of protecting yourself; (making it that if) you do get the flu, (it’s a) less severe case and keeping you out of the hospital,” Heflin said.
