BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - On Tuesday, Brown County highlighted the different services that are available to those who are in crisis or those who know someone in crisis.
This comes as County Executive Troy Streckenbach is proclaiming this week ‘Suicide Prevention Week.’
Last year, 24 people in Brown County took their own lives. Statewide, that number was close to 900.

According to the most recent data from the National Institute of Mental Health, in 2023, there were more than 49,000 suicides in the United States, more than double the number of homicides.
Family Services provides many of the services in the county to combat suicide.
