The City of Hamilton is asking residents for feedback on what matters most to them in the 2026 budget process.

The city said in a press release it will hold a series of budget engagement sessions this month where residents can learn about the budget planning process, how programs and services are prioritized, and share their priorities.

The feedback will help inform decisions on the 2026 tax budget.

The city’s annual budget has two main components — the tax-supported budget and the water rate budget.

The tax-supported budget supports day-to-day operations — including employee salaries, materials and supplies, contractual services and financing of capital projects. It is largely funded by property tax, government grants and user fees.
