Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty against the Washington City man arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem last week.
During a press conference held in Provo on Tuesday, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray addressed media about his office's case against 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who faces aggravated murder and other charges.
“The murder of Charlie Kirk is an American tragedy,” Gray said, adding that the 31-year-old father of two “was murdered while engaging in one of our most sacred and cherished American rights, the bedrock of our democratic republic — the free exchange of ideas in a search for truth."
