LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A viral social media trend involving videos of teens urinating on school property has made its way to Lincoln.

Lincoln Public Schools sent a letter to parents on Tuesday addressing the disturbing trend that’s been taking place in the school.

According to LPS, a new social media trend is encouraging teens to film themselves urinating on bathroom walls and floors, or trespass on school property at night and urinate on school facilities.

Various public urination accounts have popped up on social media, affecting various colleges, high schools and middle schools across the country.

“Not only is this unsafe and unsanitary, but it creates unnecessary work for our staff as they work to maintain clean school spaces,” said Allysa Diehl, Schoo Middle School Principal.
