LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — Gas service has been shut off to part of the Allenbrook subdivision in Lenoir City after lightning struck a gas main on Edinburgh Drive, according to a post from the Lenoir City Utilities Board.
LCUB shared images of a tree on fire from the lightning strike and asked the community to avoid the area if possible. It also said there would be a strong odor of gas in the area.

The Lenoir City Police Department also shared the post, thanking LCUB crews for being ready to restore service "when Mother Nature strikes."
"Please be aware of utility workers and emergency personnel in this area," LCPD said.
