MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -There is a new president at the forefront of Madison Area Technical College.

Dr. Jennifer Berne has been on the job for a couple of months. The college has not had a new president since 2014.

Dr. Berne has more than 30 years of experience in education and was previously the provost at Oakland Community College in Michigan.

“I am a career lifelong educator,” Dr. Berne explained. “I started and fell in love with teaching and learning as a very young person right out of college and have devoted my life to making sure that everybody has access to quality education, and that also teachers and professors are equipped with the best skills that they have in order to facilitate learning.”

She was overwhelmed by the amount of people who have a connection to MATC.
