MARANA, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Marana Police Department arrested an 11-year-old student after officers responded to a report of a threat at a local school.

In the evening of Sept. 15, MPD officers received a report regarding a threat made by a student towards another student at Leman Academy of Excellence, 7720 N. Silverbell Road. MPD opened a criminal investigation, conducted interviews with Leman Academy administration, but the threat couldn't be confirmed.

On Sept. 16, MPD continued the investigation and arrested an 11-year-old Leman Academy student for one count of disruption of an education institute.

There is no threat to the campus and students, according to MPD. For safety reasons, MPD will be present at the school on Tuesday afternoon.
