A childcare worker has been charged with assaulting a young boy in the NSW central west.
Police allege a female staff member forced the four-year-old onto a bed at a child care centre on Ingersole Drive at Kelso near Bathurst last month.
Officers say the child's head struck the edge of the bed during the incident which caused a two-centimetre laceration.
Medical attention was immediately sought for the child.
Police arrested a 24-year-old staff member at a Kelso home yesterday who was charged with reckless wounding.
She was granted conditional bail and will appear in the Bathurst Local Court next month.
The ABC has contacted the childcare centre.
