'Stratus' coronavirus symptoms and everything you need to know
A lecturer in biomedical science has provided insight into two emerging coronavirus variants, amid rising concerns about their spread and symptoms. The strain, known as Stratus, has two variants - XFG and XFG.3 - which were first identified in January of this year.
By June, the World Health Organisation had placed XFG 'under monitoring' due to its 'increasing proportions globally'. And by September 3, the UK Health Security Agency reported a 7.1% increase in coronavirus cases across England compared with the previous week, with some potentially suspected to be linked to the XFG strain.
