YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Football players at Youngstown's Ursuline High School who transfer to different schools won't be able to play for their new schools this year, the Ohio High School Athletic Association confirmed to 3News.

The OHSAA's ruling comes days after Ursuline chose to cancel the remainder of its 2025 football season following multiple federal lawsuits against the school accusing players of things like hazing, sexual abuse, physical assault, and harassment. In announcing its decision, the school said it "had hoped to continue our season, with dozens of student-athletes, band members, cheerleaders, and other students, along with coaches, parents and others who are not alleged to be involved at all."
