FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - In honor of the 215th anniversary of Mexican Independence Day, the City of Fresno raised the Mexican flag at City Hall on Tuesday.
"Mexican Americans have helped shape this city from the ground up. And as one of your elected representatives and as a proud son of this valley and our community, I stand here knowing this flag isn't about division; rather, it's about connection. It's about remembering that the strength of this city comes from the diversity of the people and the willingness to show up for one another," said District 7 Councilmember Nelson Esparza.
