OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A homeless camp under a south Omaha bridge has become an eyesore. But one neighborhood businessman is taking a unique approach to improving conditions.
Piles of rock that will eventually be spread out could make for harder living conditions in a homeless camp under a near South Omaha bridge.
”I got a bed, I think I could sleep on the rocks, but man, it’s hard on the ankles," said James McClellan, who lives in the encampment.
Another homeless camp occupant named April says she’s already spread the recycled concrete pieces in front of her tent.
“They hurt when you walk on them. I can move them, but I don’t want to be anywhere nobody wants me,” April said.
