TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —

Two Tuscaloosa business owners took their concerns about towing and parking to the Tuscaloosa City Council Tuesday night.

Daniel Spires, owner of Awesome Towing, believes recent towing regulations are hurting his profits. Currently, he has to remain open two hours after each home game ends, and he cannot collect a release fee during that time period.

"I feel like we should get every penny we should earn," Spires said. "I went back and looked at some numbers. Last year alone, I had to release 151 cars in that two-hour time frame after the game, which was $78 per car I lost, come out to a total of $11,778."

He's asking the council to review those regulations and make them fairer for business owners like him.
