The Sid Harvey who steps on Dangar Oval this Saturday will not be the same young man who last left it almost two years earlier.

The Narrabri product has undergone a scarcely-believable career progression in that time, and transformed from a young, talented hopeful to one of the more promising newcomers to international rugby.

And though Harvey isn't necessarily surprised by how things have turned out - "If I didn't think I deserved it, I shouldn't be there" - he acknowledged that his younger self would have struggled to believe just how "whirlwind" his rise has been.

"I've worked pretty hard the last few years, and I was lucky enough to get a few opportunities at the start of this year," he said.
